Exogenous regucalcin suppresses the proliferation of human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 bone metastatic cells in vitro

چکیده
Following the publication of this article, the authors noted that Fig. 1 appeared incorrectly in the journal. Essentially, the figure was reorganized but only the labels for Fig. 1B and C were switched around, with the result that Fig. 1B and C were labelled incorrectly in the paper. The corrected figure is shown here, with the figure parts for Fig. 1B and C now labelled correctly. This error was introduced into the figure during the pre-press stages. The editorial office wishes to apologize to the authors for this mistake, and we regret the inconvenience this mistake has caused. [the original article was published in the Molecular Medicine Reports 12: 7801-7805, 2015; DOI: 0.3892/mmr.2015.4352].

Increased regucalcin gene expression extends survival in breast cancer patients: Overexpression of regucalcin suppresses the proliferation and metastatic bone activity in MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells in vitro.
Human breast cancer is highly metastatic to bone and drives bone turnover. Breast cancer metastases cause osteolytic lesions and skeletal damage that leads to bone fractures. Regucalcin, which plays a pivotal role as an inhibitor of signal transduction and transcription activity, has been suggested to act as a suppressor of human cancer. In the present study, we compared the clinical outcome be...
متن کاملInhibition of janus kinase 2 by compound AG490 suppresses the proliferation of MDA-MB-231 cells via up-regulating SARI (suppressor of AP-1, regulated by IFN)
Objective(s): The Janus kinase-signal transducers and activators of transcription signaling pathway (JAK/STAT pathway) play an important role in proliferation of breast cancer cells. Previous data showed that inhibition of STAT3 suppresses the growth of breast cancer cells, but the associated mechanisms are not well understood. This study aims to investigate the effect and associated mechanisms...
متن کاملGentian violet inhibits MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell proliferation, and reverses the stimulation of osteoclastogenesis and suppression of osteoblast activity induced by cancer cells.
Gentian violet (GV) is a cationic triphenylmethane dye, with potent antifungal and antibacterial activity. We recently reported that in vitro GV suppresses the differentiation of bone resorbing osteoclasts while stimulating the differentiation and activity of bone forming osteoblasts. Breast cancer is highly metastatic to bone and drives bone turnover that further promotes cancer engraftment an...
متن کاملEthanolic Extract of Propolis from Kerman Area Triggers Apoptosis and Arrests Cell Cycle in Three Human Breast Cancer Cell Lines MDA-MB-231, SKBR and MCF-7
Background: Cancer is one of the major health problems worldwide and natural resources are being explored to develop anticancer drugs with fewer side effects. Iranian propolis contains components including flavonoids and polyphenols and has various medicinal properties. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Ethanolic Extract of Sirch Propolis (EESP) on three br...
متن کاملPolysaccharide from Sepia esculenta ink and cisplatin inhibit synergistically proliferation and metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells
Objective(s): This paper aims to investigate synergistic inhibition of polysaccharide from Sepia esculenta ink (SIP), a newly isolated marine polysaccharide in our laboratory, on breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells exposed to cisplatin. Materials and Methods: Cell viability of MDA-MB-231 cells was determined by CCK 8 assay. Median-effect concentration was analyzed using Chou-Talalay method that was ...
